Equalities of Wellbeing brings together research in philosophy and housing design to explore a distinctive way of understanding equality. We are particularly interested in how a concept of equality based on
geometrical proportion can provide a foundation for greater wellbeing. We see that concept emerging from the philosophy of Spinoza and from architecture, and we think it has significance for developing a more
equal distribution of wellbeing through affordable housing.
Equalities of Wellbeing is a three-year project funded by the AHRC. It involves academics, architects, designers, and charitable groups. We are holding seminars, conferences, and events, and creating discussion papers, articles, images, and a documentary film. Find out more about the project through the links above.
